Job Description

Millennial Apparel Group is an NYC based wholesale apparel company and is currently seeking a highly motivated full-time associate designer for our women’s woven & knits bottoms division to join our growing company. Candidate will be working hand-in-hand with the VP of sales and upper management in design, and developing products with our suppliers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

- Designing innovative product with an understanding of how to translate trends into the off-price market.

- Creating flat sketches & CAD presentations providing a color / print vision for each season.

- Design from the conceptual stage to the development stage by drawing detailed proportioned sketches and selecting fabrics, trims, and accessories for every style to include all technical information clearly detailed so the factories can make prototypes.

- Collaborate with merchandisers to create and execute computer-generated graphics and prints across multiple brands.

- Responsible for creating and maintaining trim sheets, design tech pack, spec, and fit direction. Follow up with factories as updates are required and ensure accuracy with information.

- Create and execute graphics for hangtags and packaging, ensuring consistency across multiple brands.

- Checking all PPS & TOP against tech packs upon arrival to ensure all direction was followed, reviewing with management, then sending comments/approvals to factories.

- Ensure that product is consistent with market trends as well as overall business strategy and direction of management & sales team.

- Strong organizational skills to keep records and maintain line sheets of all designs and component.

MUST HAVE

QUALIFICATIONS

:
- Degree in fashion design or related field

- 3+ years experience in wholesale fashion industry (preferably womems bottoms)

- Advanced computer knowledge including Adobe Illustrator / CAD design

- Great attention to detail and strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines

- Ability to work in a fast pace, high performance environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability

- Strong communication & presentation skills.
