Job DescriptionJob Description The Estimator is responsible for determining the overall cost of construction projects in the various disciplines of CIMA, including civil, mechanical, structural steel, metal building erection, painting and blasting, electrical, and maintenance services. The Estimator will review the components of the scope of work to be delivered by doing job walks, will analyze costs and prepare estimates. The Estimator position will be responsible to handle, but is not limited to the following: Performs on site jobs walks, reviews construction documents, specifications and project plans to understand scope of work to be bid. Prepares detailed job estimates of cost of materials and supplies, labor and man-hours, equipment, subcontractor, travel, and other costs by researching costs and obtaining quotes from vendors and contractors. Prepares required bid documentation by deadlines. Assess the risk levels associated with the project, and report on potential areas where costs may be exceeded. Collaborate with management team, customer, vendors, and present bid packages as necessary. Establish and maintain vendor and contractor relationships. Other tasks as assigned by management. Skills, Education & Experience: Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in a construction environment, preferably in industrial services. Strong knowledge in mechanical/piping. Civil & structural is a plus. Strong attention to detail and follow through. Proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Project required. Proficiency in Bluebeam required. Knowledge of Primavera a plus. Ability to work under pressure to meet set goals, budgets, and deadlines. Knowledge of conducting detailed job walks to determine required man hours and sub-contractor needs. Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities and projects. Ability to work independently as well as within a small team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with management, customers vendors, and team members. Work Conditions: Work scheduled to begin at 8:00 am. to 5:00 pm. Monday – Friday. Mandatory lunch hour scheduled from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm Monday – Friday.
