Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Facilities Manager to join our leadership team. This individual will play a key role in maintaining a safe, functional, and survey-ready environment across the facility. The Facilities Manager oversees the daily operations of the Plant Operations and Maintenance Department, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety, building, and regulatory requirements, including readiness for Fire Marshal inspections, CIHQ surveys, and other state and federal surveys.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 🏥 Oversee all physical plant operations, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general maintenance.
  • 🔍 Coordinate, prepare for, and actively participate in Fire Marshal surveys, CIHQ, TJC/JCAHO, OSHA, and TDH inspections.
  • 📋 Maintain facility-wide readiness for all accreditation and regulatory surveys, with clear documentation and preventive planning.
  • 🛠️ Conduct routine safety and maintenance inspections of the facility, equipment, and grounds.
  • 🔧 Direct repairs and preventive maintenance activities in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • 👷 Supervise maintenance technicians, janitorial staff, and other facility personnel.
  • 🤝 Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to support a safe and operationally efficient environment.
  • 🏗️ Work with senior leadership to plan and execute facility upgrades, renovations, and equipment installations.
  • 🚨 Lead emergency preparedness efforts related to utility systems, building infrastructure, and life safety.
  • 📑 Maintain all documentation related to safety logs, repairs, inspections, work orders, and compliance reports.
  • 🛡️ Act as the facility safety officer and primary liaison for environmental safety and Life Safety Code compliance.

  • 🏥 Work closely with infection control, quality, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory alignment.

Education & Experience:

  • 🎓 Minimum of 5 years of healthcare or industrial facilities management experience, including oversight of building systems and infrastructure.
  • 🏥 Proven experience with CIHQ, Joint Commission, and Fire Marshal survey preparation and participation required.
  • 🔧 Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems in a healthcare setting.
  • 📜 Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred; vocational/trade school accepted.
