Investment Management Derivatives Operations

The Derivative Trade Support Team Specialist will work in the Global Derivative Operations area of Investment Management supporting a broad range of investment strategies. IM Derivative Operations is increasing its support of critical areas impacted by growing business initiatives and regulatory requirements by expanding an integrated team that provides an appropriate support infrastructure to focus on the new derivatives environment. This individual will be part of the Global Derivatives Trade Support team based in the New York office working alongside team members in London and Mumbai who are responsible for supporting global derivative trading. The team oversees daily derivative trade processing which includes timely trade affirmation and trade notification for a variety of derivative instruments including futures, options, credit derivatives, interest rate swaps and equity swaps while serving as a main contact point for the Equity and Fixed Income traders.

The derivatives specialist for this position will be exposed to Listed and OTC derivative product life cycle events and work to develop and enhance relationships with Fixed income and Equity traders, other Operations teams, Technology, Legal, and external trading entities such as executing broker and clearing brokers.

Responsibilities:

-Support upcoming business and regulatory projects within derivatives including the integration of MSIM and Eaton Vance Management, Project Horizon, new instrument approvals, counterparty diversification efforts etc.

-Collaborate with Derivative Trade Support team members in New York, London and Mumbai to process intra-day trading activity, trade life cycle events etc.

-Perform daily functional responsibilities focused on derivative trade processing, block trade allocation communication, trade affirmation, trade confirmation and trade notification.

-Liaise with Fixed Income and Equity traders to resolve derivative trade discrepancies.

-Interact with various third-party service providers, such as custodians and fund accountants as well as various executing and clearing brokers to resolve settlement breaks and exceptions.

-Partner with Portfolio Services, Collateral Management and Fund Administration teams to resolve any post trade issues.

-Continually review and improve processes to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

-Work with the global teams to enhance procedures and best practices ensuring processes are globally aligned.

-Any other duties as assigned .

Qualifications:

-A broad understanding of the investment industry and various financial products including OTC and Listed Derivatives. This includes but is not limited to Futures, Options, Credit Derivatives, Interest Rate Swaps and Equity Swaps.

-A high degree of organization and an orientation toward strict attention to detail.

-Facility with common corporate technology platforms and applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

-Excellent oral / written communication skills, professional maturity, and outstanding business judgment.

-Ability to work independently and escalate as appropriate.
