Job Description

K2 is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of airport security screening projects. This role involves full project lifecycle management, from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring technical excellence, financial performance, and stakeholder satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a customer-focused leader, capable of delivering high-quality projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all project documentation, including RFIs, bills of material, daily reports, subcontractor maintenance, as-built documentation, SOWs, POs, government administrative submittals, change orders, field reports, and invoicing.
  • Provide operational support during project pre-construction and bidding phases, including cost estimating, scope development, construction scheduling, and logistics planning.
  • Identify, manage, price, and execute change orders.
  • Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and manage project meetings to ensure alignment among stakeholders.
  • Oversee project billings and financial performance.
  • Manage the project closeout process, including final documentation, punch lists, and contract/subcontractor final payments.
  • Travel domestically 50-75% as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent project experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management, both on-site and off-site.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects ranging from $50,000 to $5,000,000.
  • Background in aviation, airport, or security-related construction preferred.
  • PMP certification or similar credentials preferred.
  • Strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and the Project Management Office.
  • Experience in design formulation and compliance resolution with federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to quality and integrity.
