We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven QA/QC Specialist to oversee quality assurance and control processes across multiple utility-scale solar construction sites . This remote role involves extensive travel to project sites in states such as Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Ohio , with a 4 weeks on / 1 week off rotation. The QA/QC Specialist will be responsible for verifying installation quality, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and project specifications, and supporting commissioning readiness and turnover documentation.
Key Responsibilities:Perform daily inspections and audits of mechanical, electrical, and civil work to ensure compliance with design drawings, specs, codes, and quality standards.
Document and report non-conformances and work with site teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Collaborate with construction managers, subcontractors, and commissioning teams to resolve quality-related issues in real time.
Maintain and manage QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, redlines, as-built drawings, test records, and punch lists.
Support and participate in commissioning walks, pre-functional checks, and final turnover activities.
Train field personnel on quality procedures, inspection techniques, and documentation best practices.
Ensure compliance with project-specific ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans) and verify completion of hold/witness points.
Utilize project management and reporting tools to track QA/QC metrics and progress.
2+ years of experience in Utility-Scale Solar construction , with direct QA/QC responsibilities.
Solid understanding of solar construction disciplines (electrical, mechanical, civil) and QA/QC protocols.
Ability to travel 90%+ with 4 weeks on / 1 week off rotational schedule.
Familiarity with NEC, IBC, ASTM, and relevant codes and standards for solar PV systems.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in field documentation and records management.
Proficiency with MS Office and digital inspection/reporting tools.
Valid driver's license and flexibility to support multiple project sites as needed.
Experience with NETA, ISO 9001, or commissioning documentation a plus.
Certifications such as NABCEP PV Installation Professional, CQA, or ICC preferred.
Electrical testing or commissioning background beneficial.
All travel-related expenses (lodging, flights, rental cars, per diem) are covered by the company during site assignments.
QA/QC Specialists are expected to work collaboratively with site teams to support project milestones and turnover timelines.
