Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer – Full Time

Join our dynamic team at KVAL Inc., where we design and manufacture cutting-edge CNC technology and offer substantial opportunities for professional growth and development. This pivotal position within our manufacturing team will be the first point of contact for resolving issues on the production floor and will be instrumental in optimizing our assembly processes and machine designs.

Job Requirements

  • 4-Year Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, and machine design principles.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing floor issues promptly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and revising mechanical designs (assemblies, weldments, sheet metal) for improved manufacturability, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Experience with CAD software for reviewing and making minor modifications to designs (SolidWorks preferred, AutoCAD a plus).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and address urgent production needs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality departments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and concise reporting and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems is preferred.
  • Experience in a machine fabrication or assembly environment is a significant plus.
  • This position is 100% onsite in order to support the manufacturing team.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Serve as the primary first responder to physically review, address and resolve technical issues that arise on the manufacturing floor, minimizing production downtime.
  • Review and analyze existing machine designs and assembly processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost, and ease of manufacturing.
  • Complete change orders by modifying BOMs for internal and external changes to designs/contracts.
  • Create and implement revisions to part and assembly designs to enhance functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Develop and maintain clear and accurate manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and assembly procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with the manufacturing team to optimize build practices and resolve design-related challenges.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new machine options and improvements, providing input from a manufacturing perspective.
  • Review and interpret Bill of Materials (BOMs) and provide feedback for accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Assist in the design and documentation of pneumatic systems and their integration into machine assemblies.

Participate in the training of internal teams on new designs or assembly processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
