A boutique accounting firm in Brooklyn seeks a motivated Tax Accountant with 1-2 years of tax experience to join the team and work directly with a diverse portfolio of clients. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a foundational understanding of tax procedures and a passion for providing quality service in a dynamic, client-centered environment. Responsibilities Include: Preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns with accuracy and compliance to meet deadlines. Assisting in tax planning and advising clients on tax-saving strategies and best practices. Conducting research on tax issues and staying up-to-date on federal and state tax regulations. Preparing financial statements and reports for clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards. Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and adjustments. Supporting client audits by gathering and organizing documentation as requested. Communicating regularly with clients to gather information and resolve any issues related to tax and accounting matters. Ideal Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1-2 years of experience in tax preparation and accounting, preferably in a public accounting setting. Strong understanding of tax regulations, filing requirements, and accounting principles. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines. Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation tools; experience with QuickBooks is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
