Technical Delivery Managers (TDMs) are responsible for two key objectives: (1) ensuring our customers achieve remarkable business results through technology engagements, and (2) driving customer growth through technology expertise, trusted advice, relationships, and demonstrated results. TDMs manage and deliver innovative solutions built on the Appian platform, overseeing all aspects of agile delivery, including risk management and impediment removal. They work closely with sales teams to drive growth in strategic accounts and integrated deals, engaging in project management, account management, relationship building, financial management, opportunity qualification, problem identification, project/use case definition, demand management, services positioning, and account strategy. These activities are performed in partnership with Appian Sales, Partners, and the Customer Success team, including Customer Success Managers (CSMs). This role is based at our HQ in McLean, VA. Appian values in-person collaboration as a key driver of our culture and mission. Employees are expected to work in the office 5 days a week to foster teamwork and shared ideas. To be successful in this role, you need: Experience managing a book of business using financial metrics Experience leading agile delivery teams and managing enterprise-scale technology programs, collaborating with architects and designers Understanding of customer strategic goals, technology positioning, application roadmaps, and business case development Experience with value selling methods and creating compelling business benefits Ability to develop strategic relationships with stakeholders, buyers, and influencers Strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and bias for action Industry experience in Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Insurance, or Manufacturing Experience with software consulting in ERP, CRM, BPM/Workflow, Data Integration, or Enterprise Architecture Basic qualifications: Support experience with Intel and/or 4th Estate, with an Active Government Top Secret Clearance 5+ years in an agile environment, with at least 1 year leading a team B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field Willingness to travel up to 10% annually
