Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is located on the serene island of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands and is a family-owned and managed beach resort nestled in a beautiful sandy bay along the Caribbean Sea. Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is seeking a friendly, professional, and service-oriented Bellstand Attendant to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting guests with luggage, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a seamless arrival and departure experience. This role plays a key part in creating a welcoming and memorable first impression for our guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure.
  • Assist guests with loading, unloading, and transporting luggage to and from guest rooms.
  • Properly tag, store, and retrieve luggage as needed.
  • Helps with guest belongings, including packages and deliveries.
  • Provide directions, hotel information, and recommendations for local attractions, dining, and activities.
  • Assist guests in arranging transportation, including taxis, shuttles, and valet services.
  • Deliver packages, messages, and other items to guest rooms promptly.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable bell stand and lobby area.
  • Ensure luggage carts and storage areas are kept in proper condition.
  • Assist in maintaining an orderly and welcoming atmosphere in the hotel entrance and lobby area.
  • Handle guest belongings with care and ensure the proper security of all luggage.
  • Follow all hotel safety protocols and report any suspicious activity or security concerns.
  • Assist in emergency situations by guiding guests and providing necessary support.
  • Work closely with the front desk, valet, housekeeping, and other departments to enhance the guest experience.
  • Assist in guest requests and special accommodation as needed.
  • Support hotel staff in delivering exceptional service across all areas.

Education & Experience:

  • H igh school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Prior experience as a bell attendant, valet, or in a guest services role is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if responsible for valet services)
  • Ability to lift and carry luggage and other items up to 50 lbs
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, courteous demeanor

Qualifications/Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent verbal communication and a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for providing exceptional guest experience.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Always maintain a neat and professional uniform
